Sheriff's Dept. Makes Drug Busts

The Douglas County Sheriff's Department made several drug busts last week, including one as part of the International Operation Freak Nasty and three on meth distribution.

On Friday, Princeton Knight, 24, appeared before the magistrate court to answer charges stemming from Operation Freak Nasty, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Facebook page. During the investigation, it was discovered that Knight was involved in the distribution of marijuana, methamphetamine and cocaine over a period of time in 2011. Knight is currently in the State's custody on unrelated charges.

Also on Friday, agents with the Special Investigations Division arrested Richard Vaughn, 41, Steven Smith, 44, and Shawn Davis, 35, on methamphetamine charges, ο»Ώaccording to the Sheriff's Facebook pageο»Ώ. Austell Police and Sheriff's Office Deputies went to a residence looking for an individual that Austell Police has warrants on. While at the house, methamphetamine was discovered as were items used for packaging and distributing drugs. All three individuals were taken into custody. Davis was charged with possession with intent to distribute. Vaughn and Smith were charged with possession of methamphetamine.
