A little more than two weeks after a Cobb County deputy was arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a female inmate, a second deputy has been accused of the same thing.
An internal investigation initiated after the Jan. 18 arrest of uncovered more alleged misconduct involving another deputy, according to WSB-TV.
The investigation found that Sgt. Kristopher Travitz allegedly sexually assaulted a female inmate two years ago. He was recently arrested and booked in an area jail, where he remains without bond, according to WSB-TV.
Sutherland, 51, of Douglasville, is still in the Douglas County Jail without bond on charges of aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, sexual assault by a member of law enforcement, and violation of oath of public office.
Calls to Nancy Bodiford, the spokeswoman for the Cobb County Sheriff's Office, were not returned Monday.
