Sahara Fakhir, Raymond MCKoy Among 50 Cases Indicted by Grand Jury

Douglas County District Attorney David McDade announced the Douglas County Grand Jury has returned murder indictments against a Douglasville woman in the death of a local businessman and a 31-year-old man in the death of his estranged wife’s friend.

Sahara Tabriz Fakhir, 32, was indicted on one count of armed robbery, burglary and murder—an act authorities believe she accomplished by repeatedly stabbing and cutting the victim with a knife. According to the indictment, the incident occurred between June 18th and 19th of this year. Evidence presented by District Attorney McDade at a preliminary hearing on August 8th, which included DNA results linking the victim’s blood to a knife handle located under Fakhir’s bed and investigators matching the defendant to a footprint discovered at the crime scene, warranted Judge Joel Dodson in moving the case forward for possible indictment by a Grand Jury.

Raymond McKoy, a native of New York, was indicted on one count of murder. Testimony from an eye witness during Thursday’s preliminary hearing provided sufficient evidence for the case to be presented to a grand jury. The witness’ testimony painted McKoy as the gunman who shot and killed the victim outside his estranged wife’s residence on June 22.
