Douglas County authorities say a Cobb County woman facing entering auto charges may be a member of a crime group called the “Felony Lane Gang.”

The Douglas County Sentinel reported Brandi Laquiche Ford, 29, was in Magistrate Court Friday after she was arrested for entering a vehicle Sunday in Deer Lick Park.

The newspaper reported the gang’s name comes from their practice of fraudulently cashing checks in bank drive-thru lanes furthest away the teller. The group apparently has ties to South Florida.

“This young lady is part of a group that has been coming out here and breaking into cars, stealing checks, credit cards, whatever they can get,” Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Mike Howell said in court.

Ford has been denied bond.
