Public Invited to New Fire/EMS HQ Opening Today
The Douglas County Fire/EMS Department will officially open and dedicate its new headquarters during a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Tuesday afternoon, May 7.
The Douglas County Fire/EMS Department will officially open and dedicate its new headquarters during a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Tuesday afternoon, May 7. The new headquarters is in the Blake Gammill
Memorial Building located at 6856 Broad Street/Bankhead Highway (former Sheriffβs Department headquarters). The Fire/EMS Department gradually moved into the building over the past month, and is now fully staffed at this location which includes the Fire Department Administration, Fire/EMS Training staff and Fire Marshal.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 4:15 p.m. in front of the building and will be emceed by Fire/EMS Deputy Chief Kim Ransom. Douglas County Commission Chairman Tom Worthan and Fire/EMS Chief Scott Spencer will
make short remarks, and a dedicatory prayer will be offered by Rev. Kevin McKoy, Senior Pastor, Lithia Springs First Baptist Church. After the ribbon-cutting, the Fire/EMS Department will be open for facility tours and light refreshments
until 7 p.m.
The public is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house.
