Police: Wendy's Worker Robs Own Fairburn Road Workplace

Andrew Spriggs Jr., 47, was recognized when he lifted his mask and headed towards the car he normally drives to work, in the same place he usually parks.

Wearing a mask and black overcoat over his work uniform, a fellow employee still recognized his Wendy's coworker, Monday, who was trying to rob the Fairburn Road restaurant, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Andrew Spriggs Jr., 47, was recognized when he lifted his mask and headed towards the car he normally drives to work, in the same place he usually parks, investigators told Channel 2 Action News.

The alleged attempted robbery and aggravated assault occurred at 7:50 a.m.

Spriggs was charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault and is being held in the Douglas County Jail, according to arrest records.

After his capture, Spriggs turned over the $6,000; the mask and the gun he used, the AJC reported. According to the newspaper, Spriggs said he was behind on his rent and his wife is in a nursing home with multiple sclerosis.
