Police K-9 Units Gather in Douglas

How do those working dogs and their handlers catch all of those crooks and save all of those missing people? The Douglas County Sheriff Department's K-9 Unit will be hosting the North American Police Work Dog Association Workshop starting Satur

The Douglas County Sheriff Department's K-9 Unit will be hosting the North American Police Work Dog Association Workshop from Saturday through Oct. 5. Members from more than 120 police units from around the country will gather for this critical training for dog handlers.

The workshop will focus on hands-on dog training techniques in the following areas: obedience, aggression, narcotics detection, explosives detection, tracking, area search, building search, cadaver detection and problem solving.
