Four men were arrested Thursday, suspected of breaking into cars at a party and lying to deputies.
Phillip A. Clay, 20; James Thomas Craft, 20; Justin Eugene Freeman, 19 and Michael Warren Harvey, 19; were charged with giving false statements to the police and breaking into vehicles, all felony offenses.
The four men attended a party on the evening of Aug. 11 in a neighborhood off of South Giles Rd., according to the Sheriff's Facebook page. Once at the party the men "got into an altercation with some of the other people at the party and broke into a number of vehicles at the house. Several items were stolen including a cellular phone and a gear shifter. The four individuals involved in the theft lied to investigators for several days before finally revealing the truth of the matter that it was actually them who stole the items."
The investigation conducted was thorough and lasted four full days. All stolen property has been returned to the rightful owners, according to the report.
