Pepper Spray Prompts Evacuation at Douglas County High School

Douglasville Police are investigating a pepper spray incident that resulted in an evacuation of some students at Douglas County High School Wednesday morning.

WSB-TV reported an unknown student is suspected in setting off pepper spray in a hallway of the Banks Building. Douglasville PD Maj. G. Graff said “between 75 and 100” students reported having itchy eyes and noses. The culprit was not immediately known, but police will look at surveillance video to try to ID the student.

The police department reported on its Facebook page around 11:30 a.m., “Classes are resuming at Douglas Co High after a student sprayed some pepper spray in the Banks Building. Several students were treated at the scene by EMS.”
