Murder Suspect in County Jail Headed Back to North Carolina to Face Charges

Adron Whitted was wanted in connection with a January slaying in Wilmington, N.C.

A Wilmington, N.C., man sitting in the Douglas County Jail will be sent back to North Carolina to face murder charges.

Adron Whitted, 22, waived extradition in a Douglas County court Thursday, April 17, the Wilmington Star News reported.

Whitted was arrested in Douglasville on Wednesday.

He is facing charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder and firing into an occupied property in the death of Raequan Rouse during a shootout on Jan. 19. Three other suspects also have been charged in the case.
