Woman Killed in Home Fire, 2 Injured

Teresa Taylor, 52, was killed in a late evening mobile home fire that also injured husband, Roger, and son, John. Both men are at Grady Memorial Hospital with first and second degree burns, Douglas County Coroner Randy Daniel said.

Teresa Taylor died in the fire, most likely due to smoke inhalation, Daniel said, and the body has been sent to the GBI lab for positive identification, standard in fire deaths of this kind.

The 911 call came in at 11:45 p.m and fire units arrived on the scene at 11:51 p.m., Wes Tallon said, director of communications for Douglas County.

The fire took place at 4048 Riverside Drive, in , near the Fulton County line.

"The son was outside, and he was burned and bleeding and everything, and he was going, β€˜my mom, my mom, my mom,' "neighbor Debra Screws told WSB-TV.

Tallon said the family pet, a dog, also died in the fire.

Douglas County fire investigators and the state fire marshall are still on the scene to determine the cause.
