Man Arrested on Suspicion of 'Doctor Shopping'

Samuel Fann is accused of visiting several different pharmacies in Douglas County to obtain narcotic prescriptions. He was charged with six counts of fraudulently obtaining drugs.

Samuel Fann, 48, was taken into custody by the Douglas County Sheriff's Department on Friday, on charges taken out by the Special investigations Division. Warrants were issued for Fann for fraudulently obtaining drugs, according to the Sheriff's Facebook page.

Fann is accused of 'Doctor Shopping,' visiting several different pharmacies in Douglas County to obtain narcotic prescriptions. He was charged with six counts of fraudulently obtaining drugs.

"Doctor shopping continues to be a major issue in Douglas County and metro Atlanta," according to the report. "The Sheriff's Office will continue to aggressively pursue information relating to individuals that are doctor shopping in the county," the Facebook page reads.

According to a Douglas County arrest report, Fann was released on $15,000 bond.
