There were no fatalities but three people were hospitalized this morning after a crash on Interstate 20 near the Chapel Hill Rd. exit in Douglasville. One man was airlifted via Lifeline helicopter and two others were hospitalized after a rollover accident on I-20 at approximately 9:15 a.m., according to Maj. Greg Graff, Douglasville Police Department.
A woman traveling westbound on I-20 had a tire blow out, causing the Montero SUV she was driving to roll over and crash. The driver and her passenger were brought to Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica.
A man following on a motorcycle subsequently wrecked but did not appear to hit anything, Graff said. He was airlifted by Lifeline to an unknown hospital. He was talking but his condition is also unknown.
I-20 was closed for approximately 10 minutes as the Lifeline helicopter landed. Varies lanes were closed for approximately 35 to 40 minutes, causing some minor delays but the normal flow traffic has resumed.
