Local Man Among Nine Arrested in Smyrna Prostitution Operation

John Lawler, an employee at the Youth Villages Inner Harbour Campus in Douglasville, was arrested on a felony charge of child molestation.

Smyrna Police said Friday that a prostitution bust at the Country Inn and Suites Hotel off South Cobb Drive has led to several arrests, including four for misdemeanor prostitution and three for misdemeanor pimping.

On Thursday, the Smyrna Police Department assisted the Metro Atlanta Child Exploitation Task Force (M.A.T.C.H.) in conducting a prostitution operation at the hotel located at 2175 Church Road.  

As a result of the operation, the Smyrna Street Crimes Unit secured arrest warrants for the following individuals:

Irina Tarasova, 29, was arrested and charged with prostitution; Teresa Rimes, 39, was arrested and charged with prostitution; Shermaine Burns, 41, was arrested and charged with prostitution; Keeanna Williams, 21, was arrested and charged with prostitution; Brandon Darracott, 17, was arrested and charged with pimping; Rontess Pickens, 26, was arrested and charged with pimping; Quintin Coleman, 32, was arrested and charged with pimping and driving with a suspended license.

During this operation M.A.T.C.H. Task Force agents also posed as underage juveniles and solicited sexual intercourse via the internet. As a result of that operation two were arrested on felony charges.

They included John Ralls, 67, who was charged with enticing a child; and John Lawler, 55, who was charged with child molestation. 

Lawler is an employee at the Youth Villages Inner Harbour Campus in Douglasville. 

All of the listed offenders were turned over to the Cobb County Adult Detention Facility and given a bond.
