Juvenile, Adult Charged with Robbery, Battery after Villa Rica Mugging

Montago Ackey, 18, and a 15-year-old juvenile have been charged with robbery and battery after a man was a attacked and robbed in the field behind the Villa Rica Wal-Mart on April 3, according to a report from the Villa Rica Police Department. The juvenile's name is being withheld.

Villa Rica Police responded to the field behind Wal-Mart after a 23-year-old man reported he had been attacked by two suspects and robbed of his cash. The victim suffered minor injuries during the robbery.

Villa Rica Police tracked the two suspects to 698 Spring St. and located the two subjects inside the house.

Ackey and the juvenile were charged with robbery and battery after the victim identified both suspects as the people who robbed him.

During the search of the house, officers located a .308 caliber rifle and found that someone had attempted to remove the serial number. The rifle had been reported stolen from a vehicle on Dec. 28 2012.

During an interview with the juvenile, he admitted to being involved in the robbery and bringing the firearm into the home, according to the Villa Rica Police report. The juvenile further stated that he gave the firearm to his brother, Antavious Franks, 22.

The firearm was found in a closet in the bedroom belonging to Franks and Franks admitted he had received the firearm from the juvenile. The juvenile was also charged with entering auto, during which the firearm was stolen.

Antavious Franks was charged with theft by receiving.
