Inmate sentenced to additional time after taking a plea for a crime that he committed while in the Douglas County Jail, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Facebook page.
Inmate Leonard Joe Caldwell took a plea earlier this week for a crime that he committed while in the Douglas County Jail. In July, Caldwell, along with an accomplice, approached another inmate and used intimidation to rob him. The two inmates chose to confront their victim thinking that if they scared him, he would be too afraid to report the theft to authorities.
However, their plan backfired when the victim went to officers seeking help. Cpl. Hensley of the Douglas County Jail investigated the matter and charges were filed. Caldwell received a sentence of ten years to serve four.
