Free Child Safety Seat Checks in Douglas County

There will be two sessions of the event on Thursday, April 10 and Wednesday, April 30.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is offering free child safety seat checks to the community in April. CDC reports show that in the U.S. during 2011, more than 650 children ages 12 years and younger died as occupants in motor vehicle crashes, and more than 148,000 were injured.

Furthermore, another CDC study found that, in one year, more than 618,000 children between the ages of 0-12 rode in vehicles without the use of a child safety seat or boost seat or a seat belt β€œat least some of the time.”

There will be two sessions of the event:
Thursday, April 10 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Douglas Public Health, 6770 Selman Drive

Wednesday, April 30 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Douglas County Sheriff's Department, 8470 Earl D. Lee Boulevard

You must RSVP in advance by calling Johanna Martinez at 770.949.5155
