Enjoy Old School Dance, Spring Fever

  1. First Old School Saturday Night. Reserve your tickets for the first-ever Old School Saturday Night in Douglasville at . The Centre has Douglasville's largest dance floor and two bars.   2. DC Chamber Announces Two New Chairman’s Club Members. The announced two new members of the 2011 Chairman’s Club: Rob Garcia with and Marcus Fowler with Comcast Cable. The mission of the Chairman's Club is to convene community-minded, senior-level business people to be visionaries for the Chamber and a voice for business in our community.
  3. DC Chamber Announces Top Ten Young Professionals of 2010.  The Top Ten Young Professionals of 2010 is recognition of young professionals in Douglasville and Douglas County who embody the Young Professionals Council’s mission and vision. The top ten young professionals are: Ruby Byers, , age 40; Donna Crawford, Crawford Law Group, age 39; Jessica Davis, Six Flags Theme Park, age 34; Stacy Hamby, , age 38; Marcia Hampton, , 36; Ellen Wynn-McBrayer, , age 31: Heather Nutter, , age 30; Trey Ragsdale, Kaiser Permanente, age 37; Mitzi Teal, Douglas County School System, age 36; and Susan Thompson, , age 35.
  4. Sports Physicals for Youth. As children and teenagers head to the field to participate in organized sports activities, MinuteClinic walk-in medical clinics inside select /pharmacy stores across the country are making it easy and more affordable for them to get the physicals they need to play.
    Through May 31, MinuteClinic will offer spring sports physicals at $39 ($20 off the standard price of $59). The pre-participation physicals–required by many states, school systems and athletic leagues–are administered by certified MinuteClinic nurse practitioners and physician assistants who specialize in family health care. Exams are offered seven days a week, including weekday evenings, and no appointment is necessary.
  5. Get ready to catch Spring Fever in Downtown Douglasville on April 30. The festivities kick off with a Spring Tour of Homes from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Saturday only tour will feature never before seen homes, an Interior Decorator’s showcase, and great ideas for decorating. Tickets are $15 a person and are available for purchase at the Douglasville Welcome Center and online at www.downtowndouglasville.org. Shuttles will be provided. All ticket sale profits will go to the Downtown Development Authority’s downtown revitalization efforts.
