After Highway 5 Accident, Police: Don't Drive While Distracted

The Douglasville Police Department sent out a warning on their Facebook page this morning after this accident on Highway 5.

Update: 9:50 a.m.

No one was injured in this morning's accident, Sgt. Dilly Wallace said, Douglasville Police Department.

"The driver of the red car admitted not paying attention at all and was holding a cell phone in her hand," Wallace said.

She rear-ended the silver car in front of her and then hit a third car from behind.

"It's a blessing the car went under the other because I think they would have hit the third car pretty hard otherwise," he said. "I think that's what kept everyone from getting hurt."
