15-Year-Old Charged with Killing Great-Grandmother with Sword, Found Competent for Trial
Gevin Allen Prince was in a Douglas County Superior Courtroom on Wednesday.
Gevin Allen Prince, 15, has been found competent to stand trial, according to a report from psychologists for the Georgia Department of Human Services. Prince is accused of stabbing his great-grandmother with a samurai sword on Aug. 15.
Prince appeared in a on Wednesday, before Judge Robert James. According to an article in the Douglas County Sentinel, "He told James that he understood and clearly answered all the questions he was asked. Prince had to sign a document entering a not guilty plea."
Prince was thought to be 14 when the stabbing originally occured but he turned 15 a few days before allegedly committing the crime.
