Turtles Crossing

Turtles are not like squirrels on the roadway. People don't have to run over them and turtles don't dart in front of you leaving you no options. Pay attention when you drive and simply go around or straddle them. Better yet? Do as I do. Stop and help them across the road. take them to the side of the road they are headed toward. It is mating season. You wouldn't want someone to stomp you, just because you were crossing the road.

Thanks for posting this Carl. You are so right, there is NO excuse for people running them over. Like you, I stop and help them too--it takes less than a minute to save a life. I hope everyone who reads your post does likewise.

I saw this on Moon Rd Powder Springs Ga. A nice man had stopped to help a turtle who was in the roadway. He moved the turtle to the other side of the road. No one minded waiting. We were all glad to see god's creature saved from a car that might come by before he could make it across the road. Thanks Sir who ever you were.

Thanks for the reminder; they also come out into the roads after a heavy rain & their burrows get flooded. look out for them & help across the road if you can safely do so!
