Moms Name Favorite Local Summer Camps
To summer camp or not to summer camp, that is the question.
Although spring is barely here, many summer camps have already started registering kids. What are your favorite local summer camps?

Jacob has loved VBS at our church! (.) It's Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and is open to rising K5 through 5th grade. This year it's June 20 to 24.

We just do swim team and the awesome free stuff at the library. Last year my goal was to only fill up my tank for times during the entire break. I did it! We didn't even do VBS (Vacation Bible School), but we didn't feel like we missed out on anything but unnecessary hassle.

We always try to mix it up each year–a little VBS, a little time in city-sponsored programs and a little thing I like to call “Camp Mom.” I create a theme for the week and we travel to a fun place each day that week that corresponds to the theme. This year I’m thinking of doing a farm theme. We can learn about local farming and how our food is grown locally. Maybe even a visit to and stuff like that.

This will be the first year that my kids will be old enough to participate in Vacation Bible School. I’ve heard that Shepherd of the Hills (United Methodist) has a really fun program, same with First Presbyterian Church. The offers an evening camp. We’re also researching options at the and . We plan to have a very busy summer!
