William Paul “Bill” Lamp’l, 66 of Winston, passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, after a courageous battle with Leukemia. He was born on April 20, 1947, in Miami, FL., the son of the late William Frank Lamp’l, Jr. and the late Rachel Gilbert Lamp’l.  At an early age Bill joined the Boy Scouts and became an Eagle Scout at age 17.

Bill enjoyed technology, traveling, astronomy, photography, and playing the piano & singing. During his college years, Bill sang with the Glee Club at Emory University. He also sang for many years with the West Atlanta / Douglas Choral Society (WADCS). Bill was a kind and gentle, quiet and intellectual, and a very patient person.
