WellStar Employee Gina Kay Drozd, 51, Dies

Gina Kay Drozd, 51 of Douglasville, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22. She was born Nov. 23, 1962 in Blue Island, IL. She worked as a secretary in the Anesthesia Department at WellStar Douglas Hospital and was Catholic by faith. Gina was a loving, caring person who put others ahead of herself.

Ms. Drozd was preceded in death by her father, James R. Frantal; maternal grandparents, Harry and Sadie Boomsma; and paternal grandparents, John and Mary Frantal.

She is survived by son, Bryan Drozd and wife Lauren; son, Kevin Drozd; daughter, Lauryn Drozd; mother, Marletta Frantal; brother, Greg Frantal and wife Elizabeth; brother, Bruce Frantal; sister, Gayle DiMenco and husband Joseph; brother, James Frantal, Jr. and wife Ramona; brother, William Frantal and wife Michelle; brother, John Frantal; brother, Jason Komyatti and wife Cheryl; many nieces and nephews.

The funeral mass was Saturday at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Gina will be cremated following the service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bryan Drozd, 9861 Spyglass Drive, Villa Rica, GA 30180 and the family will be making a donation in Gina’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
