Walter Robert Mayfield, 80, Dies

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 30, from Carroll Memory Gardens with Rev. Shane Roberson officiating. Interment followed in Carroll Memory Gardens.

Walter Robert Mayfield, 80, of Carrollton, passed away on Saturday, April 27. He was born July 15, 1932 in Atlanta, the son of the late Herbert Guy Mayfield and Julia Clyde Smith Mayfield. He retired in 1987 from Western Electric and AT&T with 35 years of service and attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir for several years.

In addition to his parents , he was preceded in death by sisters: Reba Ann Chafin and Carolyn Burel. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Duke Mayfield of Carrollton; daughter and son-in-law, Renee Ann & Jerry Parmer of Carrollton; sister, Earnestine Mulligan of Riverdale, GA; and grandchildren: Robert Parmer of Carrollton, Kelly N. Parmer of Carrollton, and Holly & Dusty Jackson of Roopville.
