Thomas Jackson ‘Jack’ Rice, 80, Dies

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, from 5 until 8 p.m.

Thomas Jackson ‘Jack’ Rice, 80 of Douglasville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9. He was born May 25, 1933 in Douglas County. He was retired from Ford Motor Company, where he worked in the parts control department. Jack enjoyed woodworking, reading, yard work and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Rice was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jay Rice and Emma Smith Rice.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Patsy Cain Rice; his daughter Susan Savage and her husband Jerry; grandchildren, Jessica and Brett Maddocks, and Brandon Savage; great-grandchildren, Eli Maddocks and Ailey Savage; two sisters, Inez Gray and Ruth Daniel; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, from 5 until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be Sunday, Jan. 12, at 3 p.m. in the Rosehaven Chapel. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Memorial Park.
