Steven Donald Vinson, 66, Retired Truck Driver

Funeral service is Thursday, March 13, at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel in Douglasville.

Steven Donald Vinson, age 66 of Powder Springs, passed away, Monday, March 10, 2014.  He was born in Atlanta November 14, 1947 to the late Raymond Lamar Vinson and Annie Mae Ethridge Vinson.  He was self-employed during his career, and was a retired truck driver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James “Jimmy” Raymond Vinson and grandson, Danny “D.J.” Sanders, Jr.

Survivors are his wife, Judy Brewer Vinson of Powder Springs; daughter, Sharon Munczenski of Wilkes County, GA; son, Steven Michael Vinson of Lithia Springs; daughter and son-in-law: Robin and Danny Sanders of Villa Rica; brother and sister-in-law: Gary and Melinda Vinson of Austell; grandchildren: Cody, Kayla, Darion, Drakken; one great grandchild, Blakely.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 3:00 PM from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Henry Swofford officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 5-9 PM at the funeral home, also, Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour of 3:00 PM.

In accordance with his wishes, his body will be cremated following the service.

In lieu of flowers, those  desiring to do so may contribute to the Vinson Memorial Garden Fund c/o Hightower’s Memorial Chapel, 7034 Broad Street, Douglasville, GA 30134 to establish a permanent garden in Steve’s memory.
