Shirley Cobb Crawford, 77, Dies

Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 20, at 11 a.m. at the Villa Rica Christian Church with Minister Billy Kaylor officiating.

Shirley Cobb Crawford, 77 of Villa Rica, passed away Monday, Dec. 17. She was born Nov. 1, 1935 in Parkersburg, West Virginia the daughter of the late Mattison Dusaway Cobb and the late Abbie Della Cobb. She worked as a manager for Food Giant and was a member of Villa Rica Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William T. β€œBud” Crawford; siblings, Emma Stanton, Pearl Rushing, Nora Mae Sams, Raymond Cobb, Mary Ellen Stewart, Ruth Milam, and Betty Higginbotham.

She is survived by her daughters and a son-in-law, Ellen and Urbano Sanchez of Villa Rica and Elaine Rueweler of Winder; sons and a daughter-in-law, Dempsey Lee Sherwood, Jr. of Villa Rica and David and Suzy Sherwood of Fayetteville; her siblings, Juanita Maxwell of Suwanee, Dorothy Bosley of Orlando, FL, Earl Cobb of Smyrna, TN, Howard Cobb of Parkersburg, WV, Jean Starling of Pakersburg, WV, and Carol Snider of Parkersburg, WV; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Wednesday, Dec. 19, from 5 until 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 20, at 11 a.m. at the Villa Rica Christian Church with Minister Billy Kaylor officiating.

Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica. The following will serve as pallbearers: Josh Vaughn, Urbano Sanchez, Devin Chester, Nakia Chester, Jamie Dooley, and Derek Sherwood. Those desiring to do so may make memorial contributions to the Villa Rica Christian Church.
