School Food Service Worker, Shelby Jean Pitts, 75, Dies

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. from Hightower's Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeff Childers officiating. Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Shelby Jean Pitts, 75 of Douglasville, passed away, Sept. 27. She was born April 6, 1937 in Atlanta, to the late Walter Baynes and Aldora Baynes. She retired from the Douglas County Board of Education, Food Service Department and was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Walter Baynes and Aldora Baynes, she was preceded in death by sons Edward Pitts and Mark Bryan Pitts.

Survivors are her loving husband of 58 years, Fred E. Pitts; daughters and sons-in-law: Terry and Tim Taylor of Villa Rica, Debbie and Ken Bowling of Winston; sisters: Dorothy Jones, Mary Land, Linda McGuire and Carolyn Giddens; grandchildren: Allen Taylor, Lindsy Taylor, Ashley Pitts, Jacob Pitts and great grandchild: Aidian Pitts.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeff Childers officiating. Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends, Friday, Sept. 28, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
