Richard “Ricky” Thigpen, 62 of Douglasville passed away Sunday, Sept. 30. He was born in Atlanta on April 24, 1950 to the late Felix Benny Thigpen and Novie Jeanette Entrekin Wilkes. He was a retired plumber.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his daughter, June Thigpen, and his brother, Joe Thigpen.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Mattison Thigpen of Florida; mother and stepfather, Jeanette and Gene Wilkes of Douglasville; daughters, Janice Thigpen of Douglasville and Julie Thigpen of Cedartown; son, Tony Thigpen of Florida; half-sister, Novie Jean Wilkes of Henry County; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Shirley Thigpen of Douglasville; grandchildren, Crystal and Sam Pierce, Tiffany Stephens, Richard Dakota Thigpen, Summer Bryant, Mary Leigh Thigpen, Ansley Thigpen, Brian Corn, Anthony Thigpen, Brandy Vaughn, and Christopher Thigpen; and seven great grandchildren.
According to the family’s wishes the body will be cremated.
