Richard Lee Mathis, 63, Dies

Funeral Service will be held today at 2 p.m. from Hightower's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Floyd Minter officiating.

Richard Lee Mathis, 63 of Douglasville, passed away, Feb. 19. He was born in Atlanta, May 19, 1949 to the late Nonnie J. Mathis and Barbara Summers Mathis. He worked for Charles S. Martin, a warehouse company.

In addition to his parents, Nonnie J. Mathis and Barbara Summers Mathis, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David Mathis and Jimmy Mathis.

Survivors are his wife, Cathy Turner Mathis of Douglasville; son: George L. Mathis of Douglasville; sisters: Dee Dee Underwood of Powder Springs and Regina Ward of Temple; mother-in-law: Evelyn Turner, brother-in-law: Glenn Turner.

Funeral Service will be held today at 2 p.m. from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Floyd Minter officiating.

The family will receive friends, today from 11 a.m. until the service hour of 2 p.m.

In accordance with his wishes, his body will cremated following the service.
