Rachel Jean McQurter Dies

Services will be Thursday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Reverend Chad Clifton officiating. Joshua Horsley, Austin Culpepper, Michael Bright, Johnny Horsley, Steve Horsley and Eddie Hicks will serve as pallbearers.

Rachel Jean McQurter, of Roopville, passed away Friday, Nov. 29, at her residence. She was born in Bristol, VA., June 28, 1950 daughter of the late Nancy Olivene Hicks.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Faye Parmer and two brothers, George David Hicks and Lonnie Lee Hicks.

Survivors include her husband, William Paul McQurter, Jr., Waco; children, William David McQurter and fiance, Mickey Venter of Roopville, Michelle and Stanley Horsley of Roopville; grandchildren, Joshua Horsley, Alicyn Horsley, Amanda and Austin Culpepper all of Roopville, Gracie McQurter, Randy Bailey both of Carrollton; sisters, Marilyn and Ronnie Young, Newnan and Patsy Davis of Bowdon and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 9:30 a.m. until funeral hour.

Services will be Thursday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Reverend Chad Clifton officiating. Joshua Horsley, Austin Culpepper, Michael Bright, Johnny Horsley, Steve Horsley and Eddie Hicks will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Union Church Cemetery.
