Navy Vet Bishop Lewis B. Davis, 64, Dies

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Nov. 25, from 5 until 7 p.m. The funeral service will be Monday, Nov. 26, at noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints, Douglasville, with Brother Daren Wilcox officiating.

Bishop Lewis Brent Davis, 64, of Winston, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21. He was born Jan. 5, 1948 in Ogden, UT., son of the late Lewis and LaVerne Gibby Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Zachary Brent Davis. Bishop Davis was a Veteran U.S. Navy Corpsman serving his country during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from Ford Motor Company and was a lifelong active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he served faithfully as a loving Bishop of the Douglasville Ward.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Sticher Davis of Winston, GA; son, Richard Brent Davis and his wife Laura of Carrollton, GA; son, Matthew Lane Davis of Albany, GA; daughter, Bonnie Joy Biskey and her husband Andrew of Perry, UT; daughter, April Dawn Allen and her husband Lee of Villa Rica, GA; grandchildren, Jacob, Morgan, Luke, Eli, Reeve and Trisha Davis, Brooklyn, Rachel, Preston, Liberty and James Biskey, and Trey Allen; brothers, Bruce Davis and his wife Valerie of Layton, UT, Brian Davis and his wife Debbie of Ogden, UT, Alan Davis and his wife Eileen of Layton, UT, Michael Davis and his wife Kathy of Roy, UT; sister, Nicole Bennett of Eugene, OR; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Nov. 25, from 5 until 7 p.m. The funeral service will be Monday, Nov. 26, at noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints, Douglasville, with Brother Daren Wilcox officiating. Interment will follow at Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton.
