Mary Maggie George White, 81, Dies

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, in the funeral home's chapel with Rev. Dennis Cooke officiating.

Mary Maggie George White, 81 of Austell passed away on Thursday, Jan. 31, at Wellstar Douglas Hospital in Douglasville.

A mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary showed such an unconditional love to everyone that she knew. Her family deeply appreciated this beautiful trait about her and friends accepted it lovingly as well.

She was a long time member of Glenn Forest Baptist Church, currently New Harvest Baptist Church, and was very active in the church's activities. She would attend the annual mission trips through the church and stayed active throughout her community.

Mary worked as a food service manager for Cobb County School System for 35 years. She also volunteered at the Cobb County voting polls and voter registration. Mary even volunteered her time and energy into raising money to help fight premature births and birth defects through the march of dimes organization.

Mary was an avid traveler and enjoyed many trips with her family. She enjoyed going on cruises, traveling around the United States, and traveling around the world to places such as France and Germany.

The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. today at White Columns Funeral Chapel in Mableton. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, in the funeral home's chapel with Rev. Dennis Cooke officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton.
