Mary Lou Dowda Morgan, 92, Dies

Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Blalock officiating.

Mary Lou Dowda Morgan, 92 of Douglasville, Powder Springs and Georgetown, FL, went to be with our Lord Saturday, Jan. 12. She was born May 13, 1920 in Cobb County, the daughter of the late Morgan Lee Dowda and the late Minnie Lee Stokes Dowda. She retired from the Arrow Shirt Company after twenty three years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Douglasville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ena Goggins, Stella Hill, Violene Dowda; brothers, Glen Dowda and Robert Dowda, Willie B. Dowda.

She is survived by her daughters, Henrietta Parker of Edwardsville, Al, Betty Meek of Gainesville and Amanda Rawlins of Villa Rica; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home and Crematory of Douglasville today from 5 until 8 p.m.

Funeral  Services will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Blalock officiating. Interment will follow in Macland Cemetery in Powder Springs.
