Marie Catherine Little Reid, 86, of Douglasville

Mrs. Marie Catherine Little Reid, age 86, of Douglasville, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014. She was born September 12, 1927 in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of the late Floyd and Julia Townsend Little.  She worked in Retail for many years, mainly for Sears.  She was a member of the New Covenant United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by husband William Jack Reid; son Gerald “Jerry” Howard; brother, Jack Little; and sister, Bernice Stanford.

Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Robin Reid of Wedowee, Alabama, and John and Valerie Reid of Douglasville; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Barbara Little of Marietta; grandchildren, Tracy Garrett Williamson, Lacey Reid, Brian Reid, Kelsey Reid, Collin Reid, Amber Womack, and Jacob Womack; great grandchildren, Jaedan Minniefield, Brooklyn Boggs, Katherine Mackinsley  Reid, and Lucas Williamson; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Reverend Mike Powers officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Brian Reid, Collin Reid, Nolen Ayers, Dennis Little, Robbie Stanford, and Mike Shadix serving as Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
