Local Musician, Robert Leonard Giannoni, 63, Dies

Robert Leonard Giannoni played with the Atlanta Vibrations, which was the opening band for the Beatles concert at Fulton County Stadium in 1965.

Robert Leonard Giannoni, 63 of Dallas, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23. He was born Nov. 9, 1949 in Chicago, IL. He served in the United States Navy. Mr. Giannoni was a professional musician as a vocalist and a jazz bass player. He played with the Atlanta Vibrations, which was the opening band for the Beatles concert at Fulton County Stadium in 1965. He also did free lance musical work.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Quincy Giannoni.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Vines Giannoni of Dallas; son, Leonard Shannon Giannoni of Dallas; step-daughters, Jennie Lord of Temple, Nikki Mills of Temple, Amy Mills of Villa Rica; mother, Candice Lilla Jones Bouwmans of Dallas; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth Quincy and Pam Giannoni of Marietta, step-brother, Dick Bouwmans of Marietta; step-sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Johnny Holloman of Griffin; grandchildren, Kayla Giannoni of Calhoun, Devin Lord, Destiny Lord, Dakota Lord, Kaytlyn Nunez all of Temple. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
