Joseph Riley Brock, 67, Dies

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m., at Prays Mill Baptist Church with Pastor Josh Buice, Rev. Ric Blazi and Rev. Rusty Brock officiating.

Joseph Riley Brock, 67 of Douglasville, passed away, Oct. 23. He was born April 19, 1945 in Macon to Annie Belle Douglas Brock and the late James Russell Brock, Sr. He worked as a Marta Bus Operator and was a former Chairman of Deacons of Prays Mill Baptist Church.

In addition to his father, James Russell Brock, Sr., he was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Alyson Welker.

Survivors are his wife of 47 years, Carol Eskew Brock, mother: Annie Belle Douglas Brock, both of Douglasville; daughters and sons-in-law: Kimberly Elaine Coleman of Bremen, Laurie Anne and Rusty Shadix of Carrollton, Melinda Jo Welker, Jennifer Lynn and Stacey Folds, and son-in-law: Johnny Coleman, all of Douglasville; brothers and sisters-in-law: James Russell and Melba Brock, Walter Daniel and Angie Brock, all of Douglasville; grandchildren: Alayna Welker, Brooke Shadix, Brittany Shadix, Ashlin Welker and Jacey Coleman, and future grandson, Edwin Folds.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m., at Prays Mill Baptist Church with Pastor Josh Buice, Rev. Ric Blazi and Rev. Rusty Brock officiating.

Interment will follow in the Prays Mill Baptist Church Cemetery with Ralph Brown, Steve House, C.J. Ellis, Leon Johnston, Charles Ferguson, Tommy Hester and Jerry Folds serving as Pallbearers.
