Johnny Lee Thompson, 73, Dies

The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church of Douglasville on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from noon until 2 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. with Dr. John Pennington officiating.

Johnny Lee Thompson, 73 of Douglasville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 5. He was born Dec. 29, 1939 in Douglasville. He was retired from Chrysler Motors and from Big A Auto Parts. For the past few years he had worked at Chapel Hills Country Club Golf Course. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed fishing; was a member of First Baptist Church of Douglasville, where he served as an usher; and was a member of Sonrisers Sunday School Class.

Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by his mother, Maureen Thompson; and a brother, Jerry Thompson.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jo Ann Thompson; daughter, Cindy Carr and her husband, Don; son, Scott Thompson and wife, Laura; grandchildren, Danny Carr and wife, Samantha, Benjamin Carr, Nicholas Thompson and Jonah Thompson; great-grandchildren, D.J. Carr and Andrew Carr; sister, Jane Talley and husband, Vic; brother, Stuart Thompson and wife, Anne Thompson; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Cliff Mullinax.
