Jesse ‘Alan’ Johnston, 56, Dies

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Jan. 5, from 5 until 8 p.m.

Jesse ‘Alan’ Johnston, 56 of Douglasville, passed away Monday, Dec. 30. He was born June 10, 1957 in Tifton, GA. He was a tax examiner with the Georgia Department of Revenue. Alan was a member of First Baptist Church of Douglasville, where he was a choir member, served as a Sunday School teacher in the Children’s Ministry and coached Upward Baseball.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Janine Johnston; sister, Judy Weldon and husband Kenny; nephews, Ken Weldon and Matt Weldon; niece, Wendy Holliday; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Cheryl Wanke.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayland and Judy Gibbs Johnston.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Jan. 5, from 5 until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be Monday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m. in the Rosehaven Chapel with Dr. John Pennington officiating. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Memorial Park.
