Jackie Vera Messer, age 74 of Villa Rica, passed away, June 6, 2014.  She was born December 12, 1939 in Ashland, Alabama to the late James Jackson Grant and Vera Hosey Grant.  She worked during her career as a Bank Teller for Regions Bank and was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Fred Messer, Sr.

Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law: Bill and Beth Messer, Jim and Kimberly Messer, all of Villa Rica; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and special friends, Dick and Vivian Lumpkin.

Funeral Service will be held Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 2:00PM from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating.  Interment will follow in the Prays Mill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Carrollton City Fire Department and Union City Police Department serving as Pallbearers.  Other members of the Fire Department and Police Department will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 12 Noon until the service hour of 2:00 PM.
