Ivalee Marie Southerland, 81, Dies

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, Jan. 24 at p.m. from  Hightower's Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs.

Ivalee Marie Southerland, 81 of Steinhatchee, FL., formerly of Lithia Springs, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20. She was born Dec. 13, 1931 in Cullman, AL., to the late David Hunter and Daisy Cornelia Weeks Hunter. She worked during her career as owner/operator of Hair Styles by Ivalee in Lithia Springs and was formerly a member of the Youth Baptist Church in Powder Springs. She enjoyed fishing and quilting.

In addition to her parents, David Hunter and Daisy Cornelia Weeks Hunter, she was preceded in death by several brothers, sisters and one grandchild.

Survivors are her husband of 59 years, John Alton Southerland of Steinhatchee, FL; son, Tony Southerland of Steinhatchee, FL; daughters: Carol Petrie (Harry) Newman of Douglasville, Patty Elaine Southerland of Steinhatchee, FL; brother, Nathan Hunter of Cullman, AL; sister: Louise Boyd of Cullman, AL; 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, Jan. 24 at p.m. from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, Jan. 23, from 4 until 9 p.m.at the funeral home.
