Huey Spradlin, Jr., 79, Dies

Huey Spradlin, Jr., 79 of Carrollton, passed away Friday, Jan. 17. He was born March 5, 1934 in Prestonburg, Kentucky to the late Mr. Huey Spradlin, Sr. and Gladys Hacworth Spradlin. He worked for American Can Company for more than 20 years and was a member of Carrollton Congregational Holiness Church.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Spradlin. Survivors include his son, Travis Harris of Palmetto, Ga.; and daughter, Sheena Ivey of Lakeland, Ga; son, Huey Edward Spradlin and Danny Ray Spradlin both of Ohio; daughters, Darlette Lowery and Tina McMillian both of California; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Cook, Rev. Charles Smith and Rev. Chris Jiles officiating.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jason Holloway, Mark Britt, Joey Akers, Chuck Canady, Wayne Brook, Joseph Akers, and Cody Akers.

The family will receive friends today from 4 until 9 p.m. at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel.
