Hilda Smallwood McClung, 84, Dies

Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted today at 3 p.m. from the Bethany Christian Church in Dallas with Minister Mike Mallory officiating.

Hilda Smallwood McClung, 84, passed away Saturday, Oct. 27. She was born on Sept. 3, 1928 in Carroll County, the daughter of the late Kenny Smallwood and the late Roxie Towler Smallwood. She was a seamstress having worked for various sewing companies including Arrow Shirt Company. She was a member of the Bethany Christian Church in Dallas, Georgia.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Alton McClung; step-mother, Ora Smallwood; sisters, Ruby Price, Eloise Smallwood, Martha Allen, Cleo Sticher, Evie Strickland and Elsie Vasser; brothers, Willie Smallwood, Albert Smallwood, Rudy Smallwood and Ollie Smallwood.

Survivors include her sister, Mattie Hamlan, Lorene Rodrigues, Mary Wooten and Dorothy Willis; brother, Buren Smallwood; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews; caregivers, Reba Price and Kelly Johnson.

Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted today at 3 p.m. from the Bethany Christian Church in Dallas with Minister Mike Mallory officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 1:15 until 2:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
