Franklin “Frank” Mac Blankenship, age 64, of Lithia Springs, passed away, Wednesday, June 18, 2014.

He was born October 28, 1949 in Fulton County, the son of Elaine Chosewood Blankenship and the late Raymond “Mac” Blankenship.  He graduated from Brown High School, Atlanta, Georgia, in 1967 and attended college while beginning his life’s work as a salesman.

Frank was very passionate about his family. He was a very loving husband and devoted and protective father to his children. He was a very detail-oriented and proud person who enjoyed life. He enjoyed horses and horseback riding. He also loved collecting coins, 45 records, jukeboxes and antiques. Frank also loved going to flea markets, listening to old music and watching cowboy movies. Frank was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors are his wife of 27 years, Sheila P. Patterson Blankenship of Lithia Springs; mother: Elaine Chosewood Blankenship of Douglasville; daughters and sons-in-law: Kim and Ken Davenport, Kristi and Marty Thursby, Kari and James Quarles, Kelli and Cliff Warnock, Chrissy and Daniel Arthur, Jessica and Chad Lamb; sister and brother-in-law:  Maxine and Ron Collier; brothers and sister-in-law: Jerry Blankenship, Johnny and Phyllis Blankenship; grandchildren: Haley, Savanna, Alexis, Frank, Tori, C.J., Lacey, Dillan, Taylor, Jayde, Anna, Chloe, Rebekah, Hadassah, Bailey and Peyton.

Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 20, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Mr. Daniel Arthur officiating.

The family will receive friends, Friday, June 20, 2014 from 1:00 PM until the service hour of 3:00 PM.

Frank’s wish to continue his legacy by helping others through the gift of organ donation will be honored as well as his wish for his body to be cremated.
