Eunice Smith McElroy Dies

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Saturday, Feb. 11, from 4 until 8 p.m.

Eunice Smith McElroy, 69, of Douglasville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, at . She was born June 9, 1942 in Alpharetta, the daughter of the late Cleon B. and Audrey Kilgore Smith. She retired from Young Refining Corporation after 44 years of service.

She was a member of in Douglasville where she attended the Auditorium Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her husband, James L. McElroy of Douglasville; stepdaughter, Tina (Jeff) Bennett; stepsons, Jerry McElroy and Scott (Kathy) McElroy all of Arab, AL; two sisters, Cheryl S. (Richard) Waggoner of Fayetteville, TN and Helen S. (John) Begarly of Spring Hill, TN; brother, Jimmy L. (Kay) Smith of Woodbine; 6 step grandchildren; 3 nieces, Audrey (Daniel) Wooten, Amanda (Cario) Livingston, and Aleah (Zack) Moulton; 1 nephew, Brandon Begarly; and three great-nieces, Aisleigh, Anniston, and Elizabeth.

The family will receive friends at , Douglas Chapel, Saturday, Feb. 11, from 4 until 8 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. Charles Gibbs officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Muscadine, Alabama.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Ira Dowda, Louis Easterwood, Stanley Dowda, Anthony Easterwood, Justin Dowda, and Brandon Begarly.
