Deidre Lynette McDevitt, 42, Dies

Deidre Lynette McDevitt, 42, of Dallas, passed away Wednesday, July 31. She was born on Aug. 19, 1970 in Decatur.

Deidre graduated Cum Laude from Mercer University in Macon, and was employed with McMaster-Carr Supply Company for 23 years. She had many good friends there.

Deidre was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas and Agnes McDevitt, Summie and Fannie Lou Street, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is survived by her parents, Tommy and Carolyn McDevitt; her brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Jada McDevitt; nephew, Clay McDevitt; niece, Cait McDevitt; uncles and aunts, Pat and Annette McDevitt, Annette Beish, Virginia and Clyde Hunter, Willis Street, Joe Street; special longtime friend, Carissa Hendricks Gillett; numerous cousins and friends.

The memorial service was on Aug. 3 in the Rosehaven Chapel. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Southeastern Assistance in Healthcare, 600 Parkway North, Newnan, GA 30265.

Deidre’s very special sister-in-law Jada was her caregiver and companion during her illness for the last nine months and was a God sent blessing for Deidre.

We would like to thank everyone for all the loving kindness and prayers during these trying times. Deidre will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
