DCHS Grad. Bobby Joe Pilgrim, 79, Dies

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be Tuesday, April 9, at 11 a.m. in the Rosehaven Chapel with Reverend Charles Gibbs officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

Bobby Joe Pilgrim, 79 of Douglasville, passed away Saturday, April 6. He was born April 6, 1934 in Douglasville, son of the late Rube and Minnie Rice Pilgrim. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Taylor Pilgrim. Bobby was a graduate of Douglas County High School and retired as a Supervisor with Western Electric. He was a home builder in Douglas County for many years, was a real estate agent and dealt in antiques. He loved jewelry, antiques and any ventures that involved making money. He was a member of Cowan Mill Road Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Judy Pilgrim Camp and her husband David of Winston; son, Robert Johnny Pilgrim and his wife Becky of Valdosta; stepson, Tony Ogle and his wife Allison of Winston; stepson, Mitch Ogle of Douglasville, GA; sister, Mary Alice Mayfield of Winston; sister-in-law, Reba Taylor of Douglasville; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
