David Ray Heath, 48, Dies

The family will receive friends on Monday, Oct. 1, from 3 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

David Ray Heath, 48 of Dallas, passed away Friday, Sept. 28.He was born on June 27, 2964 to the late Billy Ray Heath and Ann Patillo Austin. He worked as a supervisor at Benton of Georgia, Inc. and was Baptist by faith.

He is survived by his companion, Sonja Dunn of Dallas; mother, Ann Austin of Mableton; daughter, Summer Lee Heath of Douglasville; son, David Cody Heath of Douglasville; daughters, Brooke Dunn and Shanna Popham of Dallas; son Tyler Popham of Dallas; sister, Amanda Heath of Tennessee; brothers, Dennis Heath of Douglasville, Robert Daniel Heath of Mableton; aunts, Virginia Huddleston of Douglasville and Faye Heath; grandchildren, Cameron, Cain and Destiny; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 1 p.m. from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Reverend Johnny Holcombe officiating. Entombment will follow in the Westview Abbey with Colton Hamrick, Tyler Popham, Ethan Gibel, Dustin Dishroon, David Holton, and Joey House serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to: The David Ray Heath Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo Bank, to benefit his children.
