Christopher 'Chris' David Queen, 45, Dies

The funeral service will be Tuesday, March 26, at 2 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church with Reverend Wayne Bray officiating. He will lie in state at the church from 1 to 2 p.m.

Christopher David Queen, 45 of Douglasville, passed away Sunday, March 24.  He was born May 24, 1967 in Atlanta, son of Richard and Karol Keeler Queen.  He was a graduate of University of West Georgia and worked as a sales representative in the automotive business. He will mostly be remembered for the impact he made as a coach in the Winston, Beulah, Boundary Waters, New Georgia and Upward basketball athletic programs. Chris loved his family and was a member of the Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dana Queen of Douglasville, GA; children, Devin, Dawson, Cristen, Camry and Caleigh; parents, Bruce and Karol Queen of Mt. Pleasant, SC; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Doris Bone of Douglasville, GA; sister, Wendie Waters of Farmers Branch, TX; niece, Paige Post of LaGrange, GA, nephew, Ryan Post of LaGrange, GA, and many friends.  Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents and a sister, Kimberly Victoria Post.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, today from 5 to 7p.m. The funeral service will be Tuesday, March 26, at 2 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church with Reverend Wayne Bray officiating. He will lie in state at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
